A fine bit of design inspiration is the Lego Christmas tree at St Pancras Station in London last Christmas. Made from 600,000 Lego bricks and with its 1,200 Lego baubles, the 12 metre tall tree was the tallest tree ever made with the toy bricks, according to Lego. And it actually looked stunning too!

This year in the Lego tree’s place is a stunning ‘Golden Christmas  Tree‘ that is 2 metres taller than its predecessor at 14 metres, and it is true creative inspiration. The golden gilded Christmas tree has been put in place to mark this year’s Olympic success for Britain and the Diamond Jubilee. It features The tree  36 golden medals to mark the British medals won at this year’s Olympics, is topped with a stunning Union Jack design star and there’s 55 metres of golden satin ribbon swirling 12m from the base of the tree up to the Union Flag star.
